Avoiding The Video Marketing Slap

Being a sometimes "too aggressive" marketer, I have had my share of sites shut down. Not that I'm proud of it, mind you, and I am proud to say that I am a truly repentant, 100% cured one time spammer. But in my "younger days" I lost a plethora of twitter accounts, a Facebook account with over 3,500 friends (that one hurt!) and a handful of video accounts. But the video account hurt the most. I had 60 videos on the site, representing about a year of work, all down the drain. But that wasn't the worst part, the worst part was tracking down all the blog posts and sales pages I had embedded the videos on! It took two solid weeks of work for me and my Virtual Assistant (OK, fine, he did 99% of the work). My lesson? Only use paid video services for important blog posts and sales pages! Duh! But I had to learn the hard way. So before you get too far down the video marketing path, get yourself an inexpensive video host like vzaar, who wants your money and doesn't care if the content is "commercial" or not.
